Monarquia
Founded in 2018 by two sisters, Monarquía in Amherst, NH sprang from a legacy built on generations of family recipes. What began as shared comfort at home quickly evolved into a destination for authentic, heartfelt Mexican cuisine
Our Favorites
Chimichangas
Wrapped in a flour tortilla, each one is stuffed with your choice of seasoned chicken or shredded beef, tender rice, creamy beans, and melted cheese—then fried to that perfect, crave-worthy crisp. Whether you choose the classic version under Autentica Tradición or the legendary Chimichanga Del Mar from the seafood collection, both are stars in their own right.
Platillo El Salto
This is the dish to order. A grilled ribeye steak sits alongside plump, seasoned shrimp making for a delectable surf and turf with a Mexican twist. The steak is seared creating a caramelized crust on the outside while tender and juicy within. The shrimp are cooked just right, not rubbery or overdone. Roasted red baby potatoes round out the plate alongside scallions, and a side of charro bean soup comes with it, smoky and deeply savory.
Tostada de Tinga
The Tostada de Tinga is the kind of dish that looks simple and then completely wins you over. Three tostadas arrive topped with refried beans and shredded chicken tinga: a smoky, chipotle-braised pulled chicken. Crispy tostada shells hold their crunch even as the beans and tinga settle in. On top, cool sour cream, creamy avocado slices, and crumbled queso fresco balance the smokiness of the chicken with brightness and texture. Lettuce adds freshness. This is the plate to order when you want something that eats well but doesn't weigh you down.

Monarquía is rooted in authenticity, warmth, and real flavor. Whether it’s a quiet evening on the patio, a margarita with friends, a family dinner with options for all, or ordering takeout to enjoy at home, it’s a place where both the menu and the experience are made with intention.
